BBecome A Triangle Choke Specialist
There are four main parts to the Triangle 101 curriculum. Sequentially, any triangle specialist must first:
1.LEARN HOW TO THREATEN THE TRIANGLE
Every triangle choke specialist needs ways to "threaten" the triangle choke. This means you need entry methods to get one of your legs on his shoulder with his head and one arm trapped in between. This is what we call the "triangle setup" position and where we launch further attacks.
2.LEARN HOW TO LOCK THE TRIANGLE
If you can't lock the triangle correctly you won't be able to finish and your opponent is likely to escape. This program will teach you the best way to lock up your triangle to optimize your finishing percentage.
3.LEARN HOW TO MAINTAIN THE TRIANGLE AND STOP COMMON COUNTERS
Nobody is going to freely let you choke them. If they know jiu jitsu they will put up a fight and go into predictable defensive maneuvers. This video will show you how to stop those common counters.
4. FINISH THE CHOKE
And of course you need to finish the fight your triangle choke. This program will show you some of the best ways to finish with this submission and also teach you some effective alternative finishes.
This curriculum provides techniques and tips in all four of these areas. After the student learns the techniques, they should spend time drilling in each of the four areas against various degrees of resistance. Learning the techniques is only the first part of a solid jiu jitsu training program. Once the techniques are learned they must be drilled to bring about proficiency. Focused drilling in each of the four areas will bring the most success.
